As a frequently used household facility, the installation quality of home garage doors directly affects their safety and service life. Many homeowners encounter issues such as stuttering during opening and closing, excessive noise, and poor sealing in the later stages due to inadequate acceptance inspections. Rework not only consumes time and effort but may also damage the door structure. Mastering the following three-step acceptance inspection method can help avoid potential problems from the start.
Step 1: Basic Function Acceptance Inspection, Focusing on Smoothness. Activate the garage door’s remote control and manual switch, and observe whether the door moves up and down smoothly without stuttering, shaking, or stopping abruptly. Ensure that the speed remains consistent throughout the operation, that the door fits the ground snugly when closed, and that it can fully rise to the top of the track when opened without deviation or tilting. Additionally, test the sensitivity of the emergency stop button and whether the manual unlocking device can be easily operated after a power outage to ensure that the emergency power-off function works properly—preventing the door from becoming inoperable during unexpected situations.
Step 2: Safety Performance Acceptance Inspection, Emphasizing Protection. Safety is paramount in the installation of garage doors. First, test the anti-pinch function by placing obstacles such as cardboard boxes or wooden planks under the door. The door should immediately rebound upon touching the obstacle without leaving any squeeze marks. Next, check the infrared sensing device; when the sensor probe is blocked, the door should stop descending and rise back up to prevent pinching people or objects. Additionally, verify that the gap between the door and the track is uniform, with no sharp protrusions, and that hardware components such as hinges, rollers, and springs are securely installed without looseness or abnormal noise—avoiding potential injury from falling parts during use.
Step 3: Detail Workmanship Acceptance Inspection, Focusing on Sealing and Durability. Details determine the user experience. Observe the sealing between the door and the ground as well as the walls; the gaps should be controlled within 5mm. This can be tested with a piece of paper: after closing the door, the paper should not be easily pulled out, preventing rainwater and dust from infiltrating the garage. At the same time, check that the door surface is free of scratches and deformation, and that the paint is evenly applied and smooth. Ensure that the screws securing the track are not missing, that the connections are not loose, and that the noise level during operation is controlled below 60 decibels (equivalent to the volume of a normal conversation). Finally, verify the product certification and installation instructions to confirm that the installation complies with the manufacturer’s specifications—providing a basis for future maintenance.
